Healthcare Board Initiative (HcBI)

The Healthcare Board Initiative (HcBI) addresses  TLN’s strategic focus to increase the number of African Americans/Blacks holding board seats in healthcare and life science organizations through programs and deliberate networking opportunities with decision makers for our Board Cohorts.  The purpose of the HcBI is twofold:

  1. To ‘ready’ TLN members for board opportunities across all sectors of the healthcare industry and
  2. To influence the board selection process and increase the healthcare organizations’ board diversity with African American/ Black Executives.

The HcBI meets this objective by preparing executives for board opportunities, positioning them to enhance their visibility and access within the industry and working in partnership with our strategic partners to promote them for viable board opportunities.

Through its HcBI, TLN identifies highly qualified individuals interested in pursuing board opportunities in the healthcare industry and includes them in smaller cohort groups.    The HcBI cohorts will participate in seminars, coaching sessions, intentional networking events, and panel discussions.  TLN monitors cohort members’ appointment to board service as a result of their participation in the HcBI.
