Lester McCollum II serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at University Chicago Medicine and is an accomplished Senior Cybersecurity and Risk Management Executive with over 25 years of experience spanning various industries. Presently he serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Chicago Medical Center. Les current manages a team size of 22 employees with 5 direct reports. Additionally, he meets with other senior executives such as the CFO, CHRO, CIO, CPO, and CHRO on a recurring basis. Les also meets every two months with the Board Audit Chair, and quarterly with the Board of Directors at UCM. Before joining UCM, Les reported directly to the CEO and meet with his peers on a weekly basis, including the Board of Directors quarterly. He is currently the Executive Director and Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Chicago Medical Center. His core responsibilities involve oversight of information security programs, including Governance Risk and Compliance, Identity Access Management, Disaster Recovery, Security Operations, and Application Security. Les is actively involved in several Client Advisory Boards of industry-leading security and not-for-profit organizations. He has held several not-for-profit board seats while continuously remaining engaged in various mentoring efforts across many institutions, formally and informally. Recently, Les was recognized as a Top 100 Global CISO by HotTopic.ht in 2020 and a host of other industry recognitions and awards.
