We are all experiencing and managing through unprecedented times with fast-paced changes happening across the country in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. As many of you know communities of color are being disproportionately impacted by this pandemic. In Chicago, Blacks are dying from the ‘virus’ 6X more than Whites. The prevailing question becomes “Are the right people in the room, at the table, helping to make the right decisions for the right reasons for people of color?”
Now more than ever, we need to be strong advocates for black representation on boards and senior leadership teams in healthcare. That is why The Leverage Network is working diligently on a contingency plan for the Executive Women of Color Summit. The EWOC summit is designed to amplify executive women of color leadership and advocate for increased representation at the Board of Directors level across all spectrums of the healthcare industry and corporate America. As we shared in an earlier message, we will not cancel the Summit, but given the circumstances, we are identifying and securing alternate dates in Chicago to ensure a seamless transition. Our immediate concern continues to be the health and well-being of our Executive Women of Color attendees and everyone who contributes to making the event a rich and unique experience. In the interim, we are planning virtual sessions for our audiences and we hope you will join us.
We appreciate your support of the EWOC Summit and want to assure you that we are working to maintain the unique experience attendees have enjoyed. We will continue to keep you abreast of any and all changes made regarding new dates for the Summit. Please lookout for information on upcoming virtual sessions that will keep you uplifted and inspired during this difficult time in our history. We look forward to your virtual participation! Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Please be healthy and be safe!
